A Journey Rooted in Vision and Determination

In the heart of Kerala, often called God’s Own Country, lies Venmenad, a peaceful inland village nestled amidst lush greenery, where the Canoly Canal and Chettuva backwaters meet. During the 1960s, Venmenad was a quaint and rustic land, with its people relying on fishing, coir-making, and agriculture. Education, particularly material education, was scarce, and spiritual knowledge often took precedence. In 1962, a transformative vision was born. Janab M.K. Mohammed Haji, deeply inspired by his father’s social and educational contributions, sought to address the lack of educational institutions in his beloved village. Recognizing education as the foundation for community development, he initiated the establishment of a U.P. school. Driven by a commitment to uplift the underprivileged, Mohammed Haji laid the cornerstone for what would become MASM Institutions.

Visionary Founder

Janab M.K. Mohammed HajI

Born into the Vellangil family as the eldest son of Abdu Sahib and Pathunni Hajjumma, Mohammed Haji inherited a legacy of community service. From a young age, he exhibited a passion for social work and an unwavering dedication to improving the lives of others. Despite his success in political, religious, and social spheres, his heart remained with the people of Venmenad.

As a member and president of the Pavaratty Grama Panchayat, Mohammed Haji’s influence extended beyond politics. His pioneering efforts to bring education to the underserved were driven by the belief that societal progress required inclusive growth. His dream materialized in 1964 when the school was approved during the tenure of Chief Minister R. Shankar.

Milestones in Our Journey

From humble beginnings to remarkable achievements, MASM Institutions have charted a path of transformative progress. Each milestone reflects our commitment to academic excellence, vocational empowerment, and community development, shaping a brighter future for generations.

Early Foundations

The school began humbly with three divisions, operating in a thatched shed.

A permanent tiled building was soon constructed to provide better learning facilities.

Named in honor of Mohammed Abdurahiman Sahib, a freedom fighter and reformer whose legacy symbolizes courage and humanitarian values.

1968: High School Status

Under the guidance of Education Minister C.H. Mohammed Koya, the U.P. school was upgraded to a high school.

The first SSLC batch appeared in 1971, with Janab B.C. Abdullakutty Master as Headmaster.

1993: Introduction of Vocational Courses

E.T. Mohammed Basheer, as Education Minister, approved four vocational higher secondary courses.

These job-oriented programs offered students from ordinary families a pathway to skill development and employment.

1998: Higher Secondary Section Established

As part of the centenary celebrations of Mohammed Abdurahiman Sahib, the Plus Two section was inaugurated by Education Minister P.J. Joseph.

Three streams, five combinations, and eight batches were introduced, enabling students to pursue diverse academic interests.

A Legacy of Achievement and Progress

Today, MASM Institutions serve approximately 1,500 students, embodying excellence in academics, discipline, and co-curricular pursuits. The tireless efforts of teachers and staff have consistent success in public examinations and recognition in cultural and sports arenas.

Celebrating Milestones: Silver Jubilee, 40th Anniversary, and 50th Anniversary events brought together alumni, students, and community leaders to honor the institution’s journey.

Empowering Girls: The 50th anniversary featured the inauguration of the girls’ Taekwondo competition, “Karuthu” (Strength), by Education Minister Abdul Rabb.

A Beacon of Hope for Generations

MASM Institutions are more than just schools—they are symbols of resilience, determination, and community empowerment. From their humble beginnings in a thatched shed to becoming a premier educational establishment, they have transformed the socio-cultural landscape of Venmenad.
