NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS)
The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit at MASMVHSS, Venmenad, established in 1999, focuses on fostering discipline and community service among its students. With 50 students selected annually as NSS volunteers, the unit undertakes various initiatives, including blood donation camps, eye care camps, food distribution (Pathayam project), supporting underprivileged communities (Sneharatham project), providing educational materials (Thelimaa project), promoting literacy (Akshara Thelimaa project), and renovating healthcare facilities. Notably, the unit was recognized as the Best Higher Secondary NSS Unit in Kerala in 2003-04.
Through innovative fundraising initiatives like the Scrap Challenge and Book Challenge, NSS volunteers actively participate in school events and community service, developing essential skills and social responsibility.
STUDENT POLICE CADET (SPC)
The Student Police Cadet (SPC) program at MASMVHSS, Venmenad, launched in 2012, has consistently demonstrated exceptional performance, continuing to excel in 2024. Starting with 44 cadets, the program has successfully trained 572 cadets, fostering holistic development and community engagement through initiatives like anti-drug awareness programs, tree planting (Ente Maram), waste management, Free @ Home, SPC Against Addiction, Sheethal Literacy Camp, and One Care Challenge.
The program has achieved exemplary discipline, academic excellence, environmental stewardship, and community engagement, significantly contributing to improved student behavior, environmental awareness, community service, and leadership development. With its outstanding performance, the SPC unit has received accolades, reaffirming its commitment to shaping responsible, environmentally conscious, and socially active citizens, and has become an integral part of the school’s ecosystem, extending its impact beyond academic and extracurricular activities to discipline, environmental conservation, and social responsibility.
Bharat Scouts and Guides
The Bharat Scouts and Guides at MASMVHSS, Venmenad, established in 2014, embodies the spirit of service and community engagement with the motto “I am prepared to serve society.” Annually, 16 Scouts and 16 Guides join, embracing a journey of self-discovery and social responsibility through diverse activities like anti-drug awareness, traffic rules, environmental conservation, disaster management, plastic eradication and vocational training.
Notably, students have received prestigious awards, including the Rashtrapati Award, recognizing eight students for exceptional service, and the Rajyapuraskar Award, honoring over 20 students for dedication. By fostering teamwork, discipline and social consciousness, The Bharat Scouts and Guides shapes responsible citizens, empowering them to make a positive impact. CAREER GUIDANCE CLUB
Career Guidance Unit was started in our started in our School from 2003 onwa- rds. Its objective is to help students to identify their strength and weakness. So as to set the right goal in their Career, to enable to the students to prudently plan a career of their own, to keep students updated on latest trends in carrier development.
Focus Point
Awareness programme for parents and students. Most of the students who seek admission for plus one course are not aware of deferent options and various combination of subject taught. This programme gives awareness to parents and students about the need of identifying various streams and related careers that suits the aptitude of students.
Kerala Differential Aptitude Test (K-DAT)
This is a series of assignments designed to measure individual ability to learn or to achieve in diffrent areas. It is helpful for students in choosing courses they want to pursue based on their aptitude. Our school is a K-DAT nodal centre. This year to we conducted K-DAT test for SSLC and Plus one students in order to detect their area of interest.
Career Day Celebration: Every year
August 1 is being celebrated by Department of General Education as Career Day. A special assembly convened and career guides deliver a session on “Career Goal Setting”. In class room each subject teacher before commencing the class has to give a talk for 20 minutes about the courses available after plus two in their particular subject and also about premier institutes offering the course.
Career Guidance Class
Separate classes should be conducted for each stream. One class for science students, on e for Humanities and one class for Commerce Students.
Career Talk
Career Guidance unit should conduct interaction with successful person who have achieved a prime position in their career through hard and dedicated work. This year we are having Ms. Amrutha doing PhD at Christ University Bangalore in Forensic Science.
Path Finder
A special programme for civil service aspirants. Career Guidance unit in association with Kerala State Civil Service Academy conduct four day residential orientation on programme for Higher Secondary Students. We are lucky as on e of out student Shahzad got selected to state for this programme.
SITAR (Students Initiative for Train- ing in Artistic Rejuvenation)
Each year a special art form is selected for the promotion. In 2012-13, theatre was selected as art form. State level work shops were conducted for selected students. After this 50 students were given an opportunity to visit the National School of Drama, New Delhi to meet and interact with teachers and students. One of our students also got this golden opportunity.
We Help
The stress levels of many students’ increases at the time of examination in order to reduce the stress CGIAC has supported such students through practical advice and guidance to cope with exams. A separate temporary telephone connections with toll fee facility is established at the DHSE from 1st March 30th March every year.
Indian Institute of Technology
Madras launched a school conn- ect programme this year. This programme is introducing new certification programmes for class 11th students in Data Science and Al and Electronic System. Our Students registered for this course. Our school got an exciting opportunity to partner with IIT, Madras. It is a great opportunity to our students.
Career Guidance & Adolescent
The efforts of Career Guidance & Adolescent Counselling cell have been outlined above. Most students are unaware an about career opportunity available to them. Career Guidance unit provides an insight to those issues. Career planning is an ongoing journey and its important to stay

Little Kites (KITES)
Little Kites (KITES), our school’s innovative IT club, launched in 2019, fosters technological expertise among high school students. Through a rigorous selection process, 20-30 students entering 8th grade with a passion for IT are chosen annually to undergo comprehensive training programs spanning three years. These programs encompass high-tech equipment maintenance, graphics and animation, Scratch programming, mobile app development, Arduino blockly programming, artificial intelligence, robotics, electronics, Malayalam computing, and media and documentation.
Little Kites members don special uniforms on Wednesdays, participate in camps, and engage in sub-district, district, and state-level events, showcasing their skills in digital poster creation, video production and editing, digital magazine creation, cybersecurity, and expert sessions on IT-related topics. Notably, Little Kites members successfully recorded the Mullasserri Sub-District Kalolsavam events using DLSR cameras, earning recognition and awards from officials. This academic year, marking the school’s 60th anniversary, the HS section secured the overall grade in the Mullasserri Sub-District Science Fair’s IT category, thanks to Little Kites’ dedicated efforts, demonstrating the club’s significant impact on nurturing IT talent and achieving excellence.

Souhritha Club
Our school’s Souhritha Club, established in 2011 under the State Government’s Career Guidance and Adolescence Counseling division, plays a pivotal role in promoting holistic well-being among students. Led by Ms. Jofi Mash, the club offers targeted initiatives, including parental workshops on “Understanding Your Child” and student sessions on “Mental Health” and “Reproductive Health,” cultivating emotional intelligence and healthy relationships.
